Mallette's legal services team is looking for a notary to join one of our offices in the Lower St. Lawrence region.

The position is permanent and full-time, 37.5 hours per week.

As a notary, you will support our clients and participate in various legal mandates to support their growth.

What you'll be doing

  • Review title examinations
  • Prepare and deliver real estate, personal and estate law files
  • Prepare and lead client meetings
  • Assist other notaries in preparing files
  • Assist clients with their legal needs, such as :
- Drafting legal documents and opinions
- Actively participating in clients' corporate reorganizations
- Providing strategic legal advice within the framework of mandates
- Conducting doctrinal and jurisprudential research
  • Participate in training paralegals
  • Be able to analyze and be aware of the budgetary limits of a file
  • Participate in department meetings
  • Contribute to team development and the establishment of best practices

Do you have what it takes?

What really counts

  • Bachelor's degree in law and master's degree in notarial law
  • Membership in the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • At least one (1) year's relevant experience
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and ease with digitization
  • Knowledge of Para-Maître software (asset)
