Job description
Mallette SENCRL is looking for a talented and energetic candidate to work in one of our offices in the SaguenayLac-Saint-Jean region.You will be responsible for mobilizing a growing team of currently 10 dynamic lawyers and paralegals, focusing mainly on corporate, trust and transactional law, in close liaison with the tax, advisory and assurance departments. The successful candidate will report to a senior lawyer for the first 12 months, with a strong possibility of association at the end of this period. He/she will be a member of the provincial legal committee of over 160 lawyers and paralegals working in corporate, transactional, commercial, real estate, condominium, personal and trust law. Job responsibilities
- Develop, with the various stakeholders, the regional legal department's annual strategic plan and budget;
- Based on the strategic plan, implement an action plan and mobilize the team around its objectives;
- Report monthly to the Management Committee on the progress of the action plan;
- Ensure a service presence throughout the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean region.
- Contribute to various provincial committees in connection with provincial strategic planning;
- Ensure the planning and weekly distribution of files to be carried out and emergencies to be dealt with in connection with risk management and flows generated by the taxation and certification department;
- Be involved in the realization of mandates in order to support the team (requirement 50% of the task annually);
- Supported by the Human Resources department, work on recruitment, annual appraisals, training and follow-up of human resources;
- Follow up on work in progress and invoicing.
- Promote the department to associates, customers and other departments.
- Analyze and propose advanced technological tools and newinnovativeworking and management methods .
Profile
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B.), member of the Quebec Bar or the Chambre des notaires du Québec
- Seven to ten years' relevant corporate or commercial legal experience acquired in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- MBA, CFA, M. Fisc., CPA or other relevant professional designations are an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with many different stakeholders;
- Strong organizational skills, interest in processes and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Versatility and ability to work in a wide range of fields.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
